Our story
Rooted in home, grown with care
Nickel City Peddler is a Buffalo-born shop for people who believe a well-tended home is a form of self-expression.
How it all started
It started with a weekend habit — scouring estate sales, farmers markets, and dusty antique barns across Western New York for pieces with character. What began as a personal obsession slowly became something more: a curated collection of home goods, garden tools, and decor that felt genuinely worth keeping.
Nickel City Peddler was born from the belief that your home should tell your story. Every item we carry is chosen for its craftsmanship, its warmth, and its ability to make a space feel lived-in and loved.
What we stand for
Thoughtfully sourced
We choose pieces that are made to last — natural materials, honest craftsmanship, and suppliers who share our values.
Community first
We're proud to be a Buffalo business. A portion of every sale supports local makers and community garden initiatives.
Seasonally inspired
Our collection shifts with the seasons — what you find in spring won't be here in fall. We keep things fresh and intentional.
Packed with care
Every order is packed by hand with recycled materials. We take pride in the unboxing experience as much as the product itself.
The person behind the peddler
Ruth Miner
Founder & curator
Ruth has spent years hunting for pieces that bring warmth and personality to everyday spaces. When she's not sourcing new finds, you'll catch her tending her backyard garden or exploring Buffalo's neighborhood markets.
